Two Bobcats called up for Team Canada West camp

Two Lloydminster Bobcats are being called to the selection camp for Team Canada West in Calgary for the 2024 World Jr A Challenge.

Teague McAllister of Lloydminster and Jack Birch from Edmonton will be in camp with the other hopefuls as Canada West seeks to defend its gold medal.

McAllister has two seasons with the Bobcats with 11 goals and 9 assists in 21 games as assistant captain.

Birch also has two seasons lacing up for the Bobcats and is tied fifth in points for defenseman with 2 goals and 10 assists in 25 games.

Bobcats’ general manager, Nigel Dube is in his second year as director of operations for Team Canada West.

Before the tournament on Dec. 9, the pre-tournament games on Dec. 7. will see Canada East against Sweden at the Drumheller Memorial Arena at 3:00 p.m. MST. Then Canada West will match strides with the United States at 4:30 p.m. MST at Co-Op Place in Wetaskiwin.

On opening day in Camrose, Canada East face the United States at 3:00 p.m., then Canada West will play Sweden at 7:30 p.m.
