An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for City of Lloydminster.
Extremely cold wind chill values near minus 40 are expected tonight. Many areas will see the coldest conditions begin this evening.
Temperatures will moderate on Wednesday. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
Watch for cold related symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
If you need to be outside, dress appropriately and ensure to cover any exposed skin. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.
Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with expected wind chill.
