Athletes in Lloydminster public schools have a new sports vehicle to hitch their training to.
Registration starts in February as the Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD) will offer the Pursuit School of Sport to its students in grades 6-12 in the fall.
In partnership with local sports groups, the sports school will accommodate training schedules, competitions, and travel commitments making it an incredible opportunity.
“This school is all about balance, supporting students in achieving academic success while providing the flexibility they need to excel in their sport. We proudly offer a school that celebrates student-athletes’ dedication, discipline, and passion,” said Jason Neville, director of education.
Some key features include a flexible academic schedule with a four-day school week leaving Fridays for travel to competitions. The sports training will be provided by partners like Lloydminster Athletics located at 4111-48 Avenue.
“Beginning September of the upcoming 2025/26 season we have formed a working relationship with the Lloydminster Public School Division. The Pursuit School of Sport promises to provide an educational framework that is structured to further benefit an athlete’s lifestyle as well as their educational needs,” said General Manager Ambrose Firkus of Lloydminster Athletics.
