Lloydminster man facing fraud charges in Minor Hockey Association investigation

Lloydminster RCMP have charged a suspect after it investigated finances at the Lloydminster Minor Hockey Association.

On Sept. 27, 2024, Lloydminster RCMP received the report, and investigators say that over $300,000 had been taken from the association over five years.

Aaron Troy Foster, a 42-year-old of Lloydminster, has been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Criminal Breach of Trust
  • False Pretence

Foster was taken before a justice of the peace and was released on a Release Order with conditions.

He is to return to Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on Jan. 28.

Foster played hockey in the AJHL and WHL as a leftwinger. He won the Allan Cup in 2007 with the Lloydminster Border Kings. He was on the board of the minor hockey association.
