Lloydminster’s ranking improves on national list of best places to live

Lloydminster landed on the country’s top 219 best place to live.

Ranked 135, the border city moved up 13 spots, from last year’s ranking of 148.

Canadian personal finance and lifestyle magazine, Money Sense, published this year’s edition of the list on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

Positive notes for Lloydminster include being among the overall top 10 on the list for affordable housing and within the top 25 precentile for having a low unemployment rate.

Lloydminster also landed on Venture’s list of the top 21 best communities in Alberta for business, at number 15 with a population growth rate of 13 per cent and the median price of homes at $399,900. Edmonton claimed the top spot, followed by Lethbridge and Leduc rounding out the top 3.
