A teenager who cannot be named is facing weapons charges in Vermilion court.
On Friday, Feb. 28 at about 3:00 p.m., Vermilion RCMP responded to a weapons complaint near 47 Street.
When officers found the suspect, they determined that the weapon did not work. A nearby school was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution.
The male youth was arrested and charged with:
- Two counts of uttering threats against a person
- Using firearm in the commission of an offence
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Two counts of assault with a weapon
The youth was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody and was scheduled to return to Alberta Provincial Court in Vermilion on Mar. 3.
