The City of Lloydminster is in winner’s row.
Lloydminster has received the Economic Development Renewal Project – Medium Community/Region award at the Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) Awards for its Central Business District Rehabilitation Project.
The City says the recognition is for projects that transform vacant or underutilized properties into key economic, social, and cultural activity drivers. Also, the Lloydminster Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan (DARP) has revitalized the
downtown core, creating new opportunities for businesses, residents, and visitors.
City planners point out things like:
• Upgraded utilities and surface work
• Wider sidewalks, improved lighting, and landscaping
• Community input through the Façade and Building Improvement Program
• Focus on accessibility and environmentally friendly practices
More information on the Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan (DARP) is available on the city’s website.
