Momentum scores provincial volleyball gold

Lloydminster’s Momentum Volleyball is celebrating big wins at Sask Provincials.

The Momentum 15U Black is bringing back gold after facing 50 teams. They lost one match in Saskatchewan over five months. They played undefeated at Provincials, not even losing a set.

They also defeated provincial champions from both Alberta and Manitoba this season, on their way to becoming the first team in Lloydminster to ever win a girls club volleyball championship, says head coach Cory Gratton.

“This group has won back-to-back silver medals at Provincials. Silver at Provincials is the best result for a 16U girls team in the near 30-year history of club volleyball in Lloydminster,” says Gratton.

Another group with silver is Momentum’s 13U, with a second place finish out of 37 teams.

“This is only the second 13U girls team in Lloydminster to win a Division 1 Provincial volleyball medal. This is the best Provincial result of any 13U club team in the history of club volleyball in Lloydminster,” notes Gratton.

The season is winding down with the 16U heading to Billings, Montana for the Big Sky Volleyball Tournament. Also, the 15U head to Edmonton on May long for Nationals.

There will be a camp in August and tryouts will be in the fall when school resumes.
