One man is in custody, another on the run: Lloydminster RCMP

One suspect is in custody; another has been identified and is being sought by Lloydminster RCMP.

On Friday, May 2, Lloydminster RCMP responded to a request from Wilton Police Service after a vehicle fled a traffic stop related to a series of break-and-enters in Onion Lake.

Lloydminster RCMP, General Investigation Section, and Police Dog Services, went to the area in the city’s southwest, to assist. Officers were advised that the suspect vehicle had crashed through a fence and that two masked individuals had fled the scene on foot.

Out of an abundance of caution, Lloydminster RCMP liaised with nearby schools to initiate hold and secure protocols while the investigation was ongoing.

One male suspect was taken into custody. A second suspect has been identified, and efforts to find and arrest him are continuing.

Police say at this time, there is no ongoing risk to public safety.

The RCMP thank members of the public for their cooperation and assistance during this investigation.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
