With Mental Health Week running from May 5-11 in Canada, the Libbie Young Centre (LYC) is holding its Mental Health Matters online auction fundraiser.
Since the 80s, LYC has supported “adults living with mental illness by providing education, life skills, supported living, day programming, and community outreach services.”
Organizers point out that the 2022 Lloydminster Community Needs Assessment Survey indicates that 27 per cent of respondents did not think that they have access to the mental health services that they need. Just 34 per cent of respondents agreed. But this was down by 20 per cent compared to the previous survey.
LYC sees itself as bridging the gap by “specializing in mental health support services to individuals who may be suffering in silence.”
