Lloydminster man arrested after trying to fight RCMP

A 33-year-old Lloydminster man faces multiple charges after trying to fight the police. Just before midnight on Saturday, the RCMP received a call of an assault happening in the 3800 block of 52 avenue. They entered the home while the assault was in progress, and found the suspect on the balcony. The man then became aggressive, ignoring orders to comply with the police. The RCMP used Police Dog Services to subdue the man, but he continued to fight with the dog and RCMP officers. The police were forced to use a taser, which the man attempted to disarm from them. However, the man was finally subdued and arrested. He faces multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, assaulting a Peace Officer, and cruelty to animals. He will appear in court October 7.
