Lloydminster RCMP are sharing some details after a pedestrian had to be taken to hospital following a vehicular collision at the intersection of the city’s two major highways.
On Monday, May 12, during the lunch hour, a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old male was turning southbound onto 50th Ave (Hwy 17) from 44th Street (Hwy 16) and struck an 85-year-old female who was crossing in the crosswalk.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian, and making an improper left turn.
The police are still speaking to witnesses.
