Police investigate power disruption in Lloydminster

RCMP are investigating a power outage in Lloydminster which occurred just before 5:00 a.m., on Victoria Day, May 19.

Over 2,500 Lloydminster residents woke up without power on the morning of the Statutory Holiday.

ATCO crews were seen along with RCMP and fire crews at the sub station on 75 Avenue and 12 Street near the site of the proposed Lloydminster Costco.

Police say there were “signs of mischief” at the location, and an investigation is underway.

More details will be shared as police continue to investigate.

Power slowly returned to affected residents just before 8:00 a.m.
