Thank a paramedic during National Paramedic Services Week

May 18th marked the beginning of National Paramedic Services Week and AHS is asking residents to take the opportunity to thank an Alberta paramedic.

AHS says the week is about taking some time to celebrate one of the most integral parts of the province’s public health system, so residents are encouraged to take some time to learn about and better understand the role of EMS in the health service.

Currently, the province employs around 4,000 paramedics who service more than 670,000 ground ambulance calls every year.

“AHS thanks paramedics for the hard work and professional care they provide each and every day to thousands of Albertans and for supporting one another,” AHS says. “EMS is an essential component to Alberta’s healthcare system and AHS values the work paramedics do for Albertans.

You can share your appreciation for Alberta’s paramedics by sending a thank you note through the AHS website.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
