Vermilion RCMP looking into fatal Mannville fire

The RCMP are looking into the cause of a fire which took place in Mannville.

Both the Mannville Fire Department and police from the Vermilion detachment responded to the call on the morning of June 30. A male occupant of the home was taken via STARS Air Ambulance to University of Alberta Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Residents were evacuated from the area during the call, due to safety concerns at the scene as the fire was being extinguished.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, and police say there is no further risk to the public.

No further details will be released at the request of the deceased’s family.
