40 Avenue under repair following flood damage

The municipal government has closed off a section of 40 Avenue in the northeast end of the Lloydminster area. The chunk of road closed off was damaged due to water from Monday’s storm breaching the route, after a storm water channel overflowed. Barricades have been erected in the northbound and southbound lanes of the avenue.

The water levels have now gone down in the area, but the road base was left damaged, causing a potential hazard. Local traffic will be allowed to access the landfill, adjacent well sites, residences and industrial sites from north and south, while Lloydminster-area drivers are asked to avoid the area while repair work is completed.
