Jesse Eric Dillon, 33-years of Edmonton was among those arrested as Lloydminster RCMP cordoned off an area on the city’s east side for over two hours on June 4.
There was an increased police presence near 45 Street and 45 Avenue as investigators brought in the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), also known as “K” Division ERT, and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS).
Residents were told to stay indoors and stay away from the windows. The nearby E.S. Laird Middle School was placed on hold and secure.
Police saw the need to maintain public and officer safety, citing the high risk associated with the investigation.
Arrested and charged are:
- Jesse Dillon of Edmonton, who faces obstruction of a police officer and failure to comply with a release order
- Ryan Peace, 51 years of Martensville, faces flight from police officer
- Kyle Soosay, 35 years of Kehewin First Nation is charged with failure to comply with release order
A fourth individual was arrested for public mischief and obstruction of peace officer but charges have yet to be laid. A fifth person was released from custody.
Dillon, Peace and Soosay were brought before a justice of the peace.
Dillon was remanded into custody while Peace and Soosay were released on conditions.
They are all to return to the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster.
Soosay is booked for Tuesday, June 10, Dillon on June 19 and Peace will be back in court on August 10.
