Vermilion RCMP have laid charges in a break and enter at a remote lease site.
On June 1, investigators responded to a complaint of a break and enter in progress at a lease site near Highway 640.
Police say as it was a remote location, multiple detachments from Vermilion, Kitscoty, and Elk Point RCMP, along with Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) from Lloydminster were called in.
Police took a suspect into custody who also had an outstanding warrant.
James Hollis, a 54-year-old resident without fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
- Break and enter
- Possession of break-in tools
Hollis was brought before a justice of the peace, where he was ultimately released from custody. He is to return to the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion on July 7.
