In the aftermath of the minor fire at Grace United Church, Lloydminster, on Thursday, July 3, Sunday service has been cancelled as the church deals with cleanup.
The church community is grateful for the work of the Lloydminster Fire Department who dealt with the blaze in the Lounge area. First responders and staff are coming in for praise for their efforts.
Fire crews got the call just before 1:30 p.m., and two fire trucks dealt with the blaze in about two hours.
To remove the smell of smoke and residue from fire extinguishers, First General Services is on scene leading the clean up.
While service on Sunday, July 6 has been cancelled, the church community will update when service will resume.
