Body found near Goodfish Lake

Yesterday morning, members of the St.Paul RCMP detachment located the body of a deceased woman, after being aided by local volunteers and search and rescue personnel. The body has been tentatively identified as that of Alannah Cardinal, who was reported missing in earlier days.

The discovery took place in the area of Goodfish Lake, where Cardinal had last been seen alive. According to police, the investigation to date has determined the circumstances around the death to be non-suspicious. A full investigation is still being carried out by investigators from the RCMP, as well as members of the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section, along with the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office.
