Supporting inclusive education for your child

A virtual information session on Inclusive Education is being hosted by Inclusion Lloydminster on Thursday, Jan. 15.

This session will introduce the basics of inclusive education—why it matters, and how families can work with school teams to support meaningful learning for every child. Organizers add, the learning will highlight the many ways schools can foster inclusive classrooms and share practical strategies families can use to collaborate with educators as they advocate for strong learning opportunities.

Presenters

Facilitating the conversations are Dr. Donna Barrett from Concordia University and Marie Tran, who brings a wealth of expertise as a teacher in early childhood and elementary classrooms.

The workshop is designed for parents but is open to anyone interested in strengthening inclusive practices. It runs from 7:30-9:00 p.m. Registration details are online.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
