Bike Rodeo rides off at Bud Miller Park, May 21

Lloydminster residents are invited to brush up on their cycling skills later this month as the City of Lloydminster Municipal Enforcement and Lloydminster RCMP host a Bike Rodeo at Bud Miller Park.

The free community event runs Thursday, May 21, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Group Picnic Area #3. It’s open to riders of all ages and skill levels.

Organizers say the Bike Rodeo will focus on cycling safety, bike education, and hands‑on activities designed to help riders build confidence on two wheels.

Participants will have access to free bike inspections, helmet fittings, agility and skills courses, bike‑friendly trail information, Bike Index registration, and a complimentary community barbecue.

A limited number of helmets will be available on site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bicycle and helmet to fully participate in the activities.

The event is organized in partnership with In2Golf, and Grindin Gears, with support from Citizens on Patrol.

More information is available on the City of Lloydminster website.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
