Lloydminster RCMP charge local resident with sexual assault involving minor

Lloydminster RCMP have charged a 42-year-old Lloydminster resident with sexual assault following an investigation into an alleged incident involving a minor.

Police say they received a complaint on Monday, Oct. 26 regarding a sexual assault involving a minor. Investigators later carried out a search warrant at a Lloydminster residence on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

As a result of the investigation, a local resident was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault. The accused appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice and was remanded into custody on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

RCMP say the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident who has not yet spoken with investigators to contact Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400.

RCMP reminded the public that criminal charges are allegations that must be proven in court and not to speculate about the case or discuss it on social media.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
