Local dealership wins global award

A local car dealership has won a global award.

On Wednesday, Lloydminster Nissan was presented with the Nissan Global Award of Excellence.

The Regional General Manager for the western region, Adam Paterson, was present at the dealership to present owner Shawn Young with the award, which goes to the top five per cent of Nissan dealers in countries where the company has operations.

According to Paterson, Young and his dealership sat at the number one spot for performance of dealerships their size in Canada.

“I couldn’t be prouder of my staff, and my customers, for recognizing us for this,” said Young.

“Honestly, it feels incredible, it just feels rewarding, for having my people do the right thing every day. It’s just nice to get some recognition for my staff, because they come to work every day and they work very, very hard to get here.”

As for whether or not Young will change up what the dealership has been doing in recent years to get the award, he indicated things will stay the same.

“We’ve had these processes in play now for quite a while, and it’s like anything, you have to do it for a while to get good at it,” said Young.

“I feel like we’ve been at this level for quite a while, and we’ve got to keep on delivering the same level of service that we’ve been delivering day in, and day out, and keep moving, and hopefully we’ll be in the same situation next year winning the award once again.”
