Lloydminster RCMP locate vehicle of missing man

UPDATE: The police have announced that Morin was found deceased, and that no foul play is suspected. They thanked the public for their assistance in the search.

The Lloydminster RCMP have found the truck of a missing man.

The police previously asked for the assistance of the public in locating 48 year old Gilbert Morin. Morin was last seen on November 3, 2016, in Lloydminster. According to police, he was likely to be driving his 2007 blue Toyota Tundra, with an Alberta plate of VTZ415, which was described as possibly carrying a boat.

The notice was issued on Friday. On Sunday, police were seen in an industrial park in the northwest end of Lloydminster, blocking off a side street near the intersection of 67 Avenue and 56 Street.

Located along the street was a truck that matched the description given of Morin’s vehicle, as well as the license plate number. Two police cruisers were blocking the street, and a forensic identification officer was also on-scene.

Police have not yet released any more information about the status of Morin. More information will be added to this report as it becomes available.
