City to proceed on tax enforcement

The City of Lloydminster is preparing to enforce property taxes on five Saskatchewan properties. The property owners have been notified of registered liens on their property for being in arrears on property taxes. The taxes owed range from almost $3,500, to almost $9,400. If taxes are not paid in full in 6 months, the city will become the registered owner of the properties. The city says that there are 52 more properties that are in arrears to amounts greater than $60. They say they will notify the owners of those properties soon that if they do not pay, tax liens will be registered on their properties. The amount owed on all properties combined totals more than $186,000.
