New commander named for Lloydminster RCMP

Lloydminster is getting a new top cop next month.

The detachment has been under the command of Staff Sergeant Brent Sawatsky since early August, after he came in to replace former Lloydminster Inspector Suki Manj.

According to a news release issued by the municipal government, Sawatsky’s permanent replacement, Inspector Neil Pearson, will be coming in on December 12, to take charge of the local detachment.

“We are pleased to name the City’s new Inspector and look forward to familiarizing Insp. Pearson with

our detachment and our community next month,” said City Manager Glenn Carroll, in the release.
