Suspects in custody after taxi allegedly robbed at gunpoint

At least two men are in custody following an alleged robbery in the Border City.

According to police, a call came in to the Lloydminster RCMP, stating that a taxi driver had been robbed at gunpoint. Social media chatter indicated the incident began close to midnight.

Police responded to the call, and tracked the suspects back to the apartment complex across from Rendell Park School, located near the intersection of 34 Street and 57 Avenue.

Police were observed conducting a search of the area with the police dog, and later focusing in on a home in the west end of the complex. At least one man was removed from the home, and taken into police custody. Further police radio traffic indicated that a second man was also taken into custody.

The exact details of the incident remain unknown at this time. As further information becomes available, this story will be updated.
