The Prairie North Health Region have begun their annual medication round-up. The round-up is taking place until the end of November, and encourages everyone to take any expired prescription or over-the-counter medication to their local pharmacy for safe disposal. Needles, syringes, blood glucose test strips, lancets and other sharp objects may be available for disposal at some pharmacies, but residents are advised to check their local pharmacy before bringing those objects in. The round-up is intended to raise awareness of the risks of keeping unused medications in the home, and the link between prescription medication and addiction.
