The city of Lloydminster has developed two new bylaws that regulate waste collection in the city. The proposed Landfill Use Bylaw and the Refuse Collection Bylaw have been drafted from the results of the Keeping it Green Survey and their first reading has been approved. The Landfill Use Bylaw proposes a three-year fee structure and surcharges to recover the cost of operating the landfill and ensure that waste management infrastructure can grow with the city. The Refuse Collection Bylaw has been introduced to facilitate curbside garbage collection and adress communal waste and recycle bins at commercial establishments. The bylaws can be seen online on the city’s website.
