Lloydminster and Vermilion River partner to expand airport

The city of Lloydminster and the county of Vermilion River are partnering together to expand the Lloydminster Airport. The goal is to make the airport a regional airport that serves all communities in the area. County of Vermilion River Reeve Darryl Watt was at the airport to sign a memorandum of understanding that establishes a working relationship between the two parties, and ensures the land is protected for development by the airport.

The two communities are in the initial stages of the partnership and don’t have any concrete plans yet. Watt says that those will be developed later as the two sides start to work together.
