HOMICIDE IN PARADISE COVE AREA BEING INVESTIGATED

RCMP have determined a death on Monday night near Vilna to be a homicide.

Police say they were dispatched at around 11:30 p.m. to recover a body in the Paradise Cove area. No information about the victim has been released other than the victim is male.

Investigators from the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit – North have assumed carriage of the file and are working with members from the Smoky Lake and St. Paul RCMP Detachments.

An autopsy was completed today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual or suspicious in the area of Paradise Cove between June 19 and the early morning of June 20.
