Lloydminster Man Convicted After Fleeing Police

A Lloydminster man has been sentenced to 10 months in custody.
Yesterday, the Lloydminster RCMP tried to pull over a vehicle that they recognized as stolen. The vehicle fled and the officer did not pursue. It was found a short time later and the driver was taken into custody without incident.
Jeffrey Gervais is charged with two counts of failing to stop for police, driving while disqualified, three counts of possession of stolen property, unsafe storage of ammunition and two counts of failing to comply.
This isn’t Gervais first interaction with the law. In September, 2016, he was sentenced to 120 days deemed time served for two counts of possession of stolen property.
In January of this year he was in court once again. He faced 17 charges at that time after hitting two police vehicles in an attempt to flee the scene when RCMP attempted to pull him over for a suspected gas and dash. He plead guilty to theft under $5000, possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of an illegal substance and breach of probation. The rest of the charges were withdrawn.
