North Battleford Receiving Municipal Police Grants

The Government of Saskatchewan is giving $770,000 in Municipal Police Grants to North Battleford to fund seven existing RCMP positions.

The province says the grant supports enhanced community policing throughout the city and allows the RCMP to focus on priority areas.

“We thank the province for the ongoing commitment as this program is a tremendous support to our community safety strategy and provides seven additional officers to the Battlefords RCMP Detachment to focus on serious and organized crime within the city,” says North Battleford Mayor Ryan Bater.

The provincial government provides funds to urban police services across the province for 128 municipal police positions and policing initiatives.
