One dead in Highway 897 collision

Kitscoty RCMP are saying one person was killed in accident Wednesday morning on Highway 897.

The collision happened on the south end of the North Saskatchewan bridge where an SUV collided with pickup truck. The driver and lone occupant of the SUV, a 41-year old man from Saskatoon, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the pickup was uninjured, however a second person in the truck was airlifted to an Edmonton Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Three other people in the truck were taken to local hospital with minor injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate.
