Infrastructure funding approved for Marwayne and Vegreville

67 infrastructure projects have been approved for funding by the Federal Government in communities across Canada, including Marwayne and Vegreville.

Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Amarjeet Sohi and the President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Jenny Gerbasi announced $3.65 million in funding Tuesday. The funding will go to projects that are environmentally friendly and contribute to a clean economy.

Marwayne and Vegreville were on the list of the municipalities approved for funding projects. Marwayne will receive $35, 040 for their 2018 asset management update project and Vegreville has been approved for $50,000 for their infrastructure asset data collection project.

The funding is provided through three programs, including the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program, the Municipal Asset Management Program and the Green Municipal Fund.
