Unemployment rates drop for Lloydminster and area

Lloydminster and area has seen a drop in its unemployment rates, according to the latest Statistics Canada report.

The region that houses the City has gone from 4.1 per cent unemployment rate in February to 3.9 per cent in March. Last year, March saw a 9.9 per cent unemployment rate for the area, which has decreased by 6 per cent over a years time.

Both Alberta and Saskatchewan saw a steady growth in employment for the month, with Saskatchewan creating 4,200 new jobs, a .07 per cent increase and Alberta grew by .04 per cent.

Canada as a whole added 32,000 new full time jobs, staying at its record low unemployment rate of 5.8 per cent, same as February.
