Two arrested after Highway 16 police chase

Maidstone and North Battleford RCMP have arrested two people after a chase which also saw an officer involved shooting.

On Saturday Maidstone RCMP got a call about theft at a gas station in Lashburn. Upon investigation they found that the same van the suspects were driving matched a description from an armed robbery in Regina a day before. Police saw this van on Highway 16 and chased it until it was stopped near Delmas.

A shot was then fired from the van and an RCMP officer also made a shot back. The two suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested. The woman was treated for minor injuries she received from the dog unit on scene. No one else was hurt.

Both suspects are in custody, however no charges have been laid and the investigation continues.
