Pitch-In week set to take place in Lloydminster

The City will officially be participating in another Pitch-In Week, where residents join fellow Canadians in cleaning up local neighbourhoods, green spaces and waterways.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers proclaimed the week in City Council on Monday, saying that there is a shared responsibility to restore and properly dispose of waste.

“It’s an idea to help remind citizens that everyone’s responsible for our community, for the environment. I know I’ll be out helping boy scouts and some of the schools clean up playgrounds and parks.”

There will be various organizations pitching in to clean up waste around the City, but residents can start with picking up excess garbage around their own property.

“Encourage everybody to take that time to look around their own property, out on the street, in front of your home just pick up anything that’s loose and easy. The street sweepers will be commencing as quick as they can, but we must get rid of the snow and let’s get a good clean fresh start to the year.”

Pitch-In Week Lloydminster will kick off April 30 to May 6.
