A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by Environment Canada for Lloydminster and surrounding areas.
Conditions are looking towards developing thunderstorms that couldĀ produce damaging winds, hail and torrential rain this afternoon.
Environment Canada says the thunderstormsĀ started overnight and will continue throughout the day with some expected to become severe in the afternoon. They thunderstorms will persist throughout the evening as they move towards the SaskatchewanĀ border.
Environment Canada is reminding people that thunderstorms can produce tornadoes and very strong wind can cause damage to buildings.
