Drive-in movie night raises $1300 for Lloyd Rescue

The Lloydminster community raised money for the Lloydminster Rescue Squad on Drive-in Movie Night.

On Septemeber 14th, Lloyd Mall and the Rescue Squad held the second annual event raising a total of $1300. Chief Norm Namur says even though the weather wasn’t in their favour,  the turnout was awesome.

“It was still great. There was popcorn giving out that night, you’ve got easy access to and from the mall to the parking lot and we had a great movie that night. It was a little chillier than last year but at the end of the day, it was fun. They came out to support the mall and support Lloyd Rescue and we appreciate  that.”

All the proceeds are going towards general operations for the volunteer firefighters including insurance and fuel bills. The partnership plans on continuing the event next year if everything goes to plan.

“This event was so successful because of the mall’s attitude and the great partnership we have with them. The willingness to work with us. It was just another great year for this event.”
