A Cold Lake man is in hospital after an assault. Early Saturday morning, police responded to call in a rural area 30 kilometers west of Cold Lake, where a 21-year-old man was suffering from injuries to his neck and wrist, after being struck by an edged weapon. The alleged attacker – a 17 year-old male – informed police that the incident occured during an altercation at a gathering. He has since been arrested, and charges are pending. The victim was airlifted to the University of Alberta hospital for additional treatment for his wounds, and is expected to make a full recovery.
