Fire Ban Lifted In Britannia and Wilton

With wildfire conditions continuing to improve, the Fire Department has lifted the fire ban in Britannia and Wilton. Captain Aaron Buckingham says that thanks to moisture and the greening process, the fire hazard has lowered and the bans are no longer in effect. The Britannia Wilton Fire Department will continue to monitor the hazards in the area, and will reinstate the ban if necessary. Fire permits are still required in the rural municipalities – you can get one by calling the RM offices – as long as all conditions for safe burning are met.
