RCMP Road Stops net dozens of traffic violations

Last weekend’s high visibility traffic stops in the Battlefords has numerous traffic tickets and charges.

The RCMP and North Battleford Community Safety Officers were out in four school zones and officers were also in Chamberlain, covering several different traffic offences. During that time, they checked over 1,700 vehicles and gave out 80 traffic tickets. They also gave out 22 alcohol and gaming regulation tickets. 4 vehicles failed a safety, one was impounded and five roadside suspensions were given out to allegedly drunk and high drivers, with a pound and a half of pot taken from one car. 28 drivers also received written warnings.

The RCMP says they will continue to have High Visibility traffic initiatives over the next year.
