Stolen Lloydminster truck recovered in Saddle Lake arrest

Mounties in St. Paul have recovered a stolen Dodge pickup truck from Lloydminster while investigating in Saddle Lake.

Members of the St. Paul RCMP detachment and the Eastern Alberta Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) say on December 18 they were at a home in Saddle Lake that was under investigation for stolen property.

It was at the house where mounties spotted a vehicle they believe was involved in near-miss with a police car the day before. The RCMP says a man in the car took off on foot but was caught a short time later without any trouble.

Police say a search of the man and the car turned up 20 grams of methamphetamine as well as other controlled substances, around $900 in cash, multiple guns and ammo.

A 38-year-old man now faces a variety of charges including four counts of possession of a substance with the purpose of trafficking.

He’ll stay in police care and see St. Paul Provincial Court on January 17.
