Local RBC branch closed for foreseeable future

Lloydminster RBC is taking safety precautions by temporarily closing the branch due to issues with the roof of the building.

Branch Manager Shaun Geurts says engineers are working to fix the structural problems to the roof, which includes the trusses. He says there is no timeline on when construction will be finished.

“We did open our ATMs, they’re now accessible at the branch so clients can do deposits. We still have our ATM at the La-Z-Boy Gallery Centre that clients can also utilize.”

The recent roof issues are unrelated to the problems in late January, Geurts says the roof repairs are being done in a different location. He says he doesn’t know the specific issues that caused both closures.

“We don’t get informed that. The process includes the engineers’ review, RBC also reviews it to ensure that is safe to occupy for both our clients and our staff. We’re not going to open unless it’s clear to do so.”

Guerts says residents will be unable to connect with RBC advisors during the closures. RBC clients looking for help are advised to contact the RBC advise centre at 780-871-5800.

“We’d like to thank our clients in the community for our patience and understanding. We will communicate when we have more information.”
