Lloydminster area residents arrested in Loon Lake

Lloydminster area residents have been arrested following an attempted vehicle stop north of Loon Lake.

At about 10:50 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, members of the F Divison Crime Reduction Team tried stopping a vehicle on Highway 26. The vehicle fled towards Loon Lake where mounties successfully deployed a spike belt to stop the vehicle. Four individuals were immediately taken into police custody and a fifth, the driver, fled from the scene. He was later located by Meadow Lake Police Dog Services.

Mathew Belly, 28, has been charged with breach of recognizance, resisting arrest, flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited. Sloane Ochuschayoo, 24, is from the Pierceland area. He’s charged with two counts of breach of undertaking. A female youth has also been charged with breach of undertaking.

At the time of this incident, three of the individuals were wanted by the RCMP for a number of offences including breaking and entering, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, flight from police, and various breaches.

Belly and Ochuschayoo have been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Loon Lake Provincial Court on March 21 at 10:00 a.m. An adult woman has also been remanded into custody on outstanding warrants. A female youth has been released from custody and will be appearing in court at a later date.
