Lloydminster Rescue Squad announces 5th Sirens and Sapphires Gala

The Lloydminster Rescue Squad hopes everyone marks their calendars for the 5th annual Sirens and Sapphires Gala on October 5. The annual fundraiser for the Lloydminster Rescue Squad is at the Stockade Convention Centre celebrating their 35th year of service.

The evening begins with cocktails and dinner. Celebrity emcee, Danny Hooper, will join the celebration and host the live auction with all proceeds supporting the Lloydminster Rescue Squad. Along with the live auction, a display of silent auction items will also be available. Back by popular demand, Blackboard Jungle will entertain the crowd with top hits from five decades of music.

Gala tickets are $100 each or $800 for a table of 8. They’re available through the Lloydminster Rescue Squad members or through any of the Sirens and Sapphires Gala committee members. Tickets will also be available for purchase at Moonlight Photography or Coldwell Banker City Side Realty. Rescue Squad chief Norm Namur says the gala is the Rescue Squad’s primary fundraiser and goes a long way in helping the Rescue Squad stay on top of its goals.

“This event really propels us into the New Year every year, and gets us some of the specialized equipment that we need to offer some of our services,” says Namur. He adds that after only announcing it today, the Rescue Squad may have already sold about twenty tables sold without advertising. Namur says the Lloydminster Rescue Squad is thankful for all the support given by the community year after year.

“We’re so grateful, whether we get someone to buy the single ticket, the table or donate something. We’re just so grateful for the help the community gives us and what they can do for us. We’re glad to hold this because we feel like we give back a bit of an event too.”

Anyone who would like to donate a silent or live auction item, purchase tickets, or assist in any way may contact Ryan LeBlanc or Norm Namur at the Lloydminster Rescue Squad. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available.
