Lobster Fest returning for 40th edition

Lloydminster residents can look forward to the 40th edition of Lobster Fest on Saturday, May 4. The 40th annual event also marks the 90th year of the Rotary Club of Lloydminster.

Lobster Fest serves as the biggest fundraiser for the local Rotary Club. Since 2010, the club has donated more than $602K over for the community. Local charities, student programs and international programs have all benefitted from Rotary fundraising. Ultimately, funds raised through the event help the club impact the community and around the world.

Tickets for the event guarantee a serving of lobster and a good cut of steak. At $80 per ticket and $75 a pop for 10 or more, some say that it might be pricey. Chair of Lobster Fest and president-elect of the club, Stan Bugiera, affirms he’s heard similar sentiments but stresses that it’s about more than just the meal.

“A lot of people say, at eighty bucks a ticket, that’s getting a little crazy for steak and lobster. I say, get that out of your head, because the event is Lobster Fest but the cause is Rotary,” says Bugiera.

The fest is featuring the Dirty Rich Band as well at the Stockade Convention Centre. Tickets can be purchased at VIVID Salon, Bob Jack’s Sheet Metal, Musgrave Agencies, Universal Consulting Group, or from any Rotarian.
