Charges laid in fatal crash south of Battleford

The RCMP have laid charges following a deadly crash south of Battleford. The RCMP and other emergency services attended the crash near Red Pheasant and Mosquito First Nations on Tuesday, April 30. An initial investigation found a vehicle on a grid road failed to stop for a posted sign and collided with the passenger side of a vehicle on Highway 4, leaving one woman dead.

The highway was closed for a number of hours while crews worked to remove the debris and investigate. Twenty-seven-year-old Amber Rosette has been charged with the operation of a motor vehicle causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, operation of a motor vehicle while impaired causing bodily harm and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. Rosette remains in custody. The name of the victim will not be released.
